Chameleon Style Flavor Strip Update and Health Awareness in Vending Machines
In the rapidly evolving world of vending technologies, a significant update has emerged that affects both vendors and consumers alike. The actual size of our flavor strips measures an essential **3 5/8 W by 10 H (DB33)**, specifically designed to fit seamlessly on all Coke Style Chameleon Front machines, including the Royal and Dixie Narco models. It is noteworthy that these strips are not mere replicas; they are the original flavor strips used by national bottling companies, ensuring authenticity and quality for both business owners and customers.
Authenticity and Compliance
As we continue to enhance our product offerings, it’s crucial to note that if newer design strips become available before our images are updated, the latest designs will be dispatched to ensure that you have access to the most current information. This commitment to authenticity extends beyond just product appearance; it aligns with broader initiatives like the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.
One of the less publicized provisions of the Affordable Care Act mandates that vending machines display calorie counts on each item sold. This requirement aims to promote healthier choices among consumers by making nutritional information readily accessible. It’s a small but impactful step toward encouraging healthier lifestyles, highlighting the importance of transparency in food and beverage consumption.
Calorie Counts and Flavor Strips
In light of this new regulatory landscape, we have taken proactive steps to update many of our popular flavor strips, incorporating the latest style that includes calorie count information. This initiative allows consumers to make informed choices about their purchases. You can expect to see these improved flavor strips prominently featured on our flavor strip pages.
The integration of calorie counts into our flavor strips represents more than just compliance; it reflects our dedication to supporting public health initiatives and promoting consumer awareness. By providing essential nutritional information directly on the vending machines, we empower individuals to take charge of their dietary decisions.
The Impact on Vending Operations and Customer Experience
For vending machine operators, these updated flavor strips not only fulfill regulatory requirements but also enhance the overall customer experience. When customers can quickly glance at calorie counts next to their favorite snacks and beverages, it fosters a sense of accountability and encourages healthier choices. This shift toward transparency can potentially increase customer satisfaction and loyalty as consumers appreciate businesses that prioritize their health.
Moreover, incorporating calorie counts into flavor strips can improve sales dynamics. Many health-conscious consumers actively seek options that align with their dietary preferences. By showcasing lower-calorie or healthier drink options alongside traditional favorites, you cater to a broader audience, potentially increasing your sales volume.
Marketing Benefits and Brand Partnerships
From a marketing perspective, aligning your vending machine offerings with health trends can provide significant advantages. The visual appeal of flavor strips that highlight calorie counts can attract attention and spark conversations about health and nutrition among consumers. Furthermore, through partnerships with brands such as the Coca-Cola Company and Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc., adding value to your vending services becomes easily achievable.
The Coca-Cola Company holds a portfolio of iconic drinks, including COKE, DIET COKE, COCA COLA, SPRITE, and COKE ZERO, each with distinct consumer bases. The inclusion of calorie information on flavor strips can encourage consumers to explore variations that they may not have considered before. Drinks marketed as low-calorie or zero-calorie not only benefit from the trend toward healthier choices, but they also reinforce brand loyalty among fitness-minded individuals.
Similarly, products under the Dr Pepper label—such as DR PEPPER and DIET DR PEPPER—can leverage the new regulations to differentiate themselves in the marketplace. Highlighting calorie counts on flavor strips offers another opportunity to engage with customers who are increasingly mindful of their diets.
Conclusion: Navigating the Future
In conclusion, the introduction of updated flavor strips that include calorie counts places vending operations at the forefront of a positive consumer shift toward health awareness. As national bottling companies endorse these measures, it’s essential for vending machine operators to stay ahead of the curve by adopting these changes. By implementing the latest flavor strips and ensuring compliance with health regulations, businesses can foster a culture of wellness while also enhancing their marketability.

Flavor Strip Sizes for National Bottling Companies
Small Size Flavor Strips
1. **Size SA43**
- **Dimensions:** 1 5/8" x 3 19/32"
- **Compatibility:** This small size can be used on Vendo machines with a tear side feature as well as Dixie Narco machines (tear top).
2. **Size SA36**
- **Dimensions:** 1 15/32" x 3 1/2"
- **Compatibility:** Similar to the SA43, this size is suitable for both Vendo and Dixie Narco machines.
Most modern vending machines, particularly those manufactured by Dixie Narco and Vendo, predominantly utilize small flavor strips. These strips are designed to be easily readable and eye-catching, helping customers quickly identify their preferred drinks.
Medium Size Flavor Strips
1. **Size NBS16**
- **Dimensions:** 2 5/16" x 3 1/2"
- **Compatibility:** Works well with Vendo and Dixie Narco machines, especially for older models that may require more visibility.
Medium size strips are generally found in older or generic flat front vending machines. Their size strikes a balance between visibility and compactness.
Large Size Flavor Strips
1. **Size NBS15**
- **Dimensions:** 2 5/16" x 7 1/16"
- **Compatibility:** These large strips are primarily used in older flat front models of Vendo and Dixie Narco machines.
Large flavor strips offer significant visibility and allow for detailed branding opportunities. However, as technology progresses, many operators have shifted toward smaller strips to improve efficiency and appearance.
> **Tip:** If you attempt to use large strips in odd model machines such as Cavalier, Choice Vend, or USI, cutting them down to size might be feasible. Always check the sizes of your existing strips before placing an order to ensure compatibility.
Marketplace Vending Machines
Marketplace vending machines also have unique flavor strip requirements.
1. **DB70 Size**
- **Dimensions:** 3 3/4" W x 4 5/8" H
- **Compatibility:** This size can be utilized across all Coke Style Marketplace Wave Front machines, as well as Royal and Dixie Narco models.
It is important to note that the quality and originality of the flavor strips significantly affect customer perception. Hence, ordering original flavor strips from reputable sources is key.
Pepsi High Visibility Vendors (HVV)
For franchises requiring enhanced visual appeal, Pepsi HVV (high visibility vendors) machines use specific flavor strips.
1. **DB95 Size**
- **Dimensions:** 5.3" W x 7.2" H
- **Compatibility:** This size is designed for use on all Pepsi HVV Front machines, including those manufactured by Royal and Dixie Narco.
The larger dimensions help create a bold presence that can attract customers and inform them about the available beverage choices along with calorie counts, as mandated by the Affordable Care Act.
Conclusion
Choosing the correct flavor strip size for your vending machine is not only about aesthetics; it's also about ensuring compliance with health regulations and enhancing customer engagement. From small sizes suited for most modern machines to larger strips ideal for older models, understanding these nuances can greatly impact vending machine performance.
When ordering flavor strips, always confirm the compatibility based on the dimensions of your machines. By doing so, you’ll ensure a seamless transition to updated flavor strips that resonate with today's health-conscious customers. Take advantage of original flavor strips to maintain brand integrity and adhere to current health mandates, ensuring your vending operation remains successful and compliant.

Why Buy A Refurbished Machine?
Great Returns - Commercial Grade Machines - Affordability
New vs Refurbished
We used to sell new machines as well as reconditioned. We no longer sell new for the following reason: According to a recent survey of vending operators about 93 out of 100 potential vending accounts do not make enough revenue to warrant the cost of new equipment. New machines are great if you have high volume accounts, but most people do not have these accounts. Typical cost on new 'commercial grade' machines run as much as: Can drink $3400-$4800, Snack $3600-$4500, Cold food $7200-$8500, as you can see quite high compared to used or refurbished. Priced with mech and validator, typical options, vendor pricing, not including sales tax or shipping in some cases. Please remember 'anyone and everyone' can call their machines refurbished but what does that really mean? Please see our machine ratings page for what we actually do to our machines. Many of our competitors don't even 'clean or paint the inside' of the machines.
Start small and grow as you can afford it.Many people start in the vending business without much knowledge. This can hurt you financially if you are not careful. All of the machines that we sell are full size, commercial machines. There are many machines that are made that are small, countertop or mechanical coin acceptance. These machines are fine if you are a housewife looking to make a little extra money on the side. We used to sell those type of machines and no longer do. The main reason is that people who were serious about vending would out grow these type of machines in several months. There are two main problems with the small mechanical machines. One problem is the machine does not make change or take dollar bills. The second problem is that the machine will 'work you to death'. Most of these machines hold under 100 products and can only gross $40 to $50 at a time, if the entire machine empties out. This is only the gross, the profit is less than 1/2 of that amount. A full size commercial machine on the other hand usually holds 350 to 600 products and empties out at $250 to $500. Remember you spend the most time driving to the location so you might as well fill 500 products as soon as 50.
